50th ANNIVERSARY - Something to celebrate! back to index
For much of the time, whilst the Trust values its heritage, such is its commitment to the daily work of helping individuals to resettle that it has little time to reflect on the past. In the midst of the busyness, however, we often receive letters and emails from people who have had a connection with us, some for as long as five decades! Their communications are always fascinating and reveal the strength of their engagement both with resettlement issues and with individuals they have met.

Also fascinating are the letters and emails from former residents: men (and more recently women too) whose lives have been literally turned around as a result of their time with us. That is of course why the Trust came into existence 50 years ago and it remains our central purpose.

This year we are proud to be celebrating our 50th year of providing resettlement support to ex-offenders, those at risk of offending and the marginalised homeless. We have planned a number of exciting events to mark this special anniversary, each of which will provide an opportunity to reflect with thankfulness and look forward with enthusiasm.

In half a century we have amassed a great deal of experience which is already being put to good effect in our centres across the country. The world is, however, constantly changing and the Trust is keen to position itself so that it can continue to serve with vision and integrity in increasingly complex times.

We have exciting plans which will take us on into the next 50 years and wish to thank all those who have shared the journey with us this far.
