- We welcome self referrals to our projects and services. - Referral Criteria. The Langley House Trust exists to help men and women who have offended or who are at risk of offending, to remain crime free, to reduce their dependence on harmful substances, to manage conditions which have a negative affect on their behaviour and to improve their potential in a range of areas so that they become welcome contributors in their communities. LHT is not just an accommodation provider. We are also a support and care provider. We provide services for men and women aged 18 or over.
- Finding the right project. LHT projects vary greatly across the country. It is important that we match all referrals with the right projects. They differ in terms of their location, the levels of staff support on offer, the type of security arrangements that are in place and some exclude some groups of offenders
- Making a referral- Referral documentation. All referrals to LHT are required to have the following minimum requirements of information- a completed LHT Referral Application Form, an up to date list of previous convictions, a complete and up to date OASys risk assessment and the most recent Pre Sentence Report or Parole Assessment Report. If you have a social worker or an offender manager we will need their approval to process your referral and will almost certainly need their help to gather the referral documentation. If you know that this documentation does not exist, we can continue to process your referral, but staff at Central Referrals will need to approve this. Once we have the supporting information, we will be able to confirm which project we would like to allocate your referral to.
- Checking the progress of your referral. You can ring Central Referrals or ring the project where your referral has been allocated to, to find out were your referral is up to. All referrals are assessed and this is usually through a face to face assessment. We welcome applicants visiting our projects as part of the referral process. It is the case that chasing up referral documentation or waiting for decisions on funding from Parole Boards or Mental Health Review Tribunals can cause delays in offering placements.
- Making a complaint. If you are not happy with the decision that we have made about your referral or if you have other concerns about how we have handled your referral please contact the Corporate Operations Director for the Trust on referrals@langleyhousetrust.org or in writing to LHT, Essex Office, PO BOX 6522, Maldon, Essex, CM9 5YF.
Please ring, 01924 339413 or write to staff at Central Referral Office, PO Box 683, Wakefield, West York's WF1 9NG in our Central Referrals Team.
