The full words 'Pathways to Change' are to the right of the arrowsPathways to Change, Elderfield, is an exciting new rehabilitative community programme from Kainos Community, in partnership with Langley House Trust.

Pathways to Change aims to help men coming from prison to live crime-free. Those who take part engage in a core programme based on cognitive behavioural therapy which challenges patterns of thinking and behaviour that previously led to criminal lifestyles.

Participants also take part in a structured programme which incorporates victim awareness, community enterprise, training and social value projects which serve the local community. Participants develop their skills to increase employment opportunities for when they move on to independent living.

Eligibility

Adult male offenders over the age of 18 who meet the following criteria:

  1. Medium to high-risk of reoffending (as assessed by OGRS or equivalent), with a score of 30 and above
  2. Those who demonstrate two or more of the following needs targeted by Pathways to Change:
  • Lack of self-management, decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Reduced cognitive skills
  • Low levels of interpersonal skills

P2C can be accessed as a residential or five-day a week drop-in programme. The average course duration is six months.

Please note:

  • Residential participants will need to be in receipt of Housing Benefit
  • Non-residents will need to cover their own travel and subsistence costs
