650 miles cycled to help turn lives around

Map of England showing the locations of different projects - the distance between the projects was cycled as part of the BikeathonA team of 23 volunteers cycled a combined 650 miles to help offenders turn their lives around.

The Bikeathon raised funds for Langley’s community offender projects and our sister charity, Kainos Community, which delivers offender rehabilitation in prisons.

Prisoners taking part in Kainos’ ‘Challenge to Change’ programme contributed over 256 miles within their prison gym, with other miles being donated by volunteers, family and friends. Our youngest cyclist was 11!

The 650 miles was the equivalent distance of cycling between some of our projects and prison locations – starting in Taunton and ending in Lancashire.

Our thanks go to Titan’s Gym, Oakham, which is based on the old prison site of HMP Ashwell, which donated its facilities to help complete the Bikeathon.
