Team gets ready to trek to raise money

A group of determined walkers, consisting of staff, former service users and friends, will be trekking across the Yorkshire 3 Peaks in July later this year to raise money for Langley House Trust and Kainos Community (our sister charity).

The money raised will go towards two key projects. In Langley, this will establish a rent deposit scheme, helping ex-offenders to access their own accommodation and live crime-free in the community.

For Kainos, the funds will support the setting up of ‘Challenge to Change’ in the community – a successful offender behaviour programme which has been running for over 15 years in prisons across England.

This year’s trek will build on the success of the Langley team’s walk in 2013 when a group of 10 walkers completed the trail in just over 12 hours. This year’s team has grown to over 20 people.

Speaking about the 2013 walk, Samantha commented:

It was a great experience – one of the best I’ve had in my life. I have never walked so hard, been so tired or had such impressive blisters! And it was great to be raising money for a worthwhile cause – helping to change the lives of men and women coming out of prison.
