Langley and Kainos team – getting ready to start the walk

A team of walkers, including Langley and Kainos Community staff and a Langley resident, scaled the Yorkshire 3 Peaks on 4th July 2015 to raise money for Langley and Kainos.

Against breathtaking views and perfect weather, the team scaled the mountains of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, reaching the highest point of 723 metres on Ingleborough.

They completed 24 miles in just 10.5 hours – shaving off 1.5 hours from a Langley team that completed the climb in 2013.  Walkers for the Yorkshire 3 Peaks 2015 looking rather pained climbing up one of the mountains

Sponsorship from friends, families and suppliers has resulted in almost £3,000 being raised – which will help to fund projects in Langley and Kainos which will help ex-offenders turn their lives around after crime.

Speaking about the climb, one walker said ‘It was an amazing experience.’
